Reader, Writer, Educator
Avery Engstrom has been writing novels since the first grade. Their first book was titled Archie and the Intergalactic Leprechauns, and while they only got a few paragraphs in, it became the foundation for a love of writing. Since then, they have started many novels that they will one day finish. They have two published poems; “Bird of Flight” was published by Creative Communications in 2011, and “Love Song of Juliet” was published by The Clackamas Print in 2014. They specialize in writing middle grade fantasy and science fiction, and the occasional YA. Avery has a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University.
Avery is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They live with their wife and 4 cats in Oregon. They are a member and huge supporter of the LGBT community and love to write diverse stories. Their goal is to ensure all children feel seen in the stories they love.
